Dr. Yuri Labvin, president of the Tunguska Spatial Phenomenon Foundation, insists that an alien spacecraft sacrificed itself to prevent a gigantic meteor from slamming into the planet above Siberia on June 30, 1908.

That’s 101 years ago !

Let’s celebrate !

Maybe we don’t need “luck” or “luch” ,if  we’ve got ET looking out for US ….then again, that was before the 2 World Wars and so on …..

The eyes of Texas, and the world for that matter, were focusing in on an unknown object

Bigfoot

Bigfoot

just discovered this blog and book review

http://blogsquatcher.blogspot.com/2009/04/book-review-my-brother-is-hairy-man.html

My Brother is a Hairy Man
by Ida Kannenberg and Lee Trippett

"If a book about a psychic channeling prevaricating gray alien
overlords who "reveal" long hidden truths about bigfoot is your thing,
then this book was tailor made for you...."

"... bigfoot is psychic, evolved from a human precursor through
the intervention of aliens, and is used by his alien masters
to mine gold and spy on people."

Big Foot by Termikesmike

"The central message seems to be this -- the alien overlords and bigfoot
would like for us to begin to treat bigfoot like a human being."

Sounds like a fun read ....

Squirrel Madness

Some scientists fear a mysterious shortage of acorns this fall
in the eastern U.S. will affect squirrels.

Scientists baffled by mysterious acorn shortage
STORY HIGHLIGHTS
Naturalists are baffled this fall by a shortage of acorns in the
eastern U.S. Up and down the East Coast, residents and
naturalists alike have been scratching their heads this autumn
over a simple question: Where are all the acorns?

Acorn Watchers Wonder What Happened to Crop

Washington Post Staff Writer

"The idea seemed too crazy to Rod Simmons, a measured,
careful field botanist. Naturalists in Arlington County couldn't
find any acorns. None. No hickory nuts, either. Then he went
out to look for himself. He came up with nothing.
Nothing crunched underfoot. Nothing hit him on the head."

"Then calls started coming in about crazy squirrels."

====

they're getting skinny, and screwy
saw one with his tongue out drooling,
staring at me and then he spotted Hudson,
but Hudson doesn't have any nuts - it's scary

Pelicans falling

Really miss seeing the Brown Pelicans coasting down along the
Boardwalk at Virginia Beach, especially when i heard the news
about their mysterious deaths on the West Coast.

International Bird Rescue Research Center
Feb. 11, 2009 Update: California Brown Pelican event

http://www.ibrrc.org/pelican_in_peril_sc_2009.html

California brown pelicans are a sub-species that nearly became
extinct in the late 1960s’ from DDT and DDE, which caused their
eggshells to thin. When they were listed in 1970, only 200-300
breeding pairs remained. Its east coast cousin, the Atlantic brown
pelican, was removed from the federal endangered species list in 1985.

we are seeing some common conditions - disorientation - birds
landing inland, being found in neighborhoods, on roads, runways, etc.
This disorientation implies something is wrong, possibly neurologically.

"Given the increasing reports of dramatic and unusual climate changes around the
world, it is not inappropriate to connect this phenomenon to the difficult to prove
theory of global warming. Unseasonably warm weather and abundant food supply
caused an estimated 4,000 pelicans to remain in Oregon and Washington until
December when they were caught in record-breaking cold temperatures.....
However, these conditions do not explain the disoriented behavior
exhibited by many of the casualties."

( Ironicly ) on February 5, the California Fish and Game Commission voted to
remove the CA brown pelican from the Endangered Species List.

" I had never seen a seabird wandering on the side of the freeway before."

What's causing fatigued pelicans to drop from sky?
 http://intbirdrescue.blogspot.com/2009/01/whats-wrong-with-brown-pelicans.html

"Disoriented and bruised California brown pelicans are landing on highways
and airport runways and in farm fields, alleys and backyards miles
 from their normal coastal haunts."

A box full of octopus
March 5, 2009 04:45 PM

http://www.boston.com/news/local/breaking_news/2009/03/a_box_full_of_o.html

7-foot-long, 30-pound octopus at the New England Aquarium
squeezed his body into a 14-inch square acrylic box

"The caretakers for the octopi at the aquarium place food
inside locked boxes as an enrichment activity."

Biologist Bill Murphy placed a couple of crabs inside a
6-inch-square acrylic cube and latched it, then placed that
cube inside a 14-inch cube with a different latch.

Spokesman Tony LaCasse said >
 "absolutely remarkably intelligent animals"
who like to interact with people.

"Believe it or not, that octopus likes to be petted."

Octopus Squeezes Into Tiny Box To Feed

7-Foot Cephalopod Able To Fit Into 14-Inch Box

POSTED: 4:19 pm EST March 5, 2009

" The feeding method is a puzzle designed to entertain
and enrich octopi, which exhibit an interest in such puzzles.
"I start the octopus off with the small box, and once he has
mastered that lock, I switch to another box, and once he has
mastered each individual box, I put a box inside a box to
keep him active and challenged," Murphy said."

3 to 4 years, they are very intelligent. Truman proved
